Prepare your website for a change in season

Go through these five items a few weeks before your hours or services shift, then email us the changes together.

  1. Hours

    Write down the new hours and the date they start. Include holiday closures you already know about.

    Updating hours on an existing page is usually one small change.

  2. Services

    Mark which services you offer all year and which only part of the year. Say when the part-year ones start and stop.

    Editing wording on existing services is small. Adding a new service section or page needs a scope review.

  3. Photos

    Pick a few recent photos that match what you're offering now. Real jobs beat older or generic shots.

    Swapping a few photos is usually small. Rebuilding a whole gallery needs a scope review.

  4. Availability

    Decide how far ahead you're taking work, and whether you're adding a waitlist line or pausing new requests.

    A short availability line or banner is small. A new section explaining a booking process needs a scope review.

  5. Inquiry expectations

    Confirm the form still says it's a request, not a booking, and that your reply time is one you can keep in a busy stretch.

    Changing the note beside the form is small. Adding new form fields or a new form needs a scope review.

Billing & Renewals

There's no contract. Cancel anytime: monthly plans stop at the end of the paid monthly billing period, and yearly plans stop renewing at the end of the paid year. There's no upfront website build fee on any plan.

Website Ownership

Tech Turtle owns the website design and implementation unless you separately purchase ownership. When your paid billing period ends after cancellation, hosting and website service end and the website goes offline. A refunded cancellation ends service when the refund is processed. Your logos, photos, written materials and other content you supply always stay yours.

Want to own the website outright? An optional one-time $1,995 buyout transfers the site to you so you can host it anywhere.

Domain & Hosting

Hosting, SSL, and the first year of standard domain registration are included. Standard domain renewal stays included while your subscription is active and in good standing.

Every plan includes one prelaunch revision. After launch, Starter changes are $10 each. Business and Business Pro include one small change every month, on monthly or yearly billing, handled on the 15th of each month. Unused changes do not roll over. Adding up to 15 photos in a month counts as that one change.

Maine Website Questions

Can my website distinguish year-round services from seasonal offerings?

Yes, if your business has both. Each service can be labelled as year-round or offered during set months, with the start and end dates you give us. If everything you do runs all year, we don't add seasonal labels at all.

Can I show the communities I travel to and jobs considered by request?

Yes. We list the towns you regularly serve, and a separate line can say that jobs farther out are considered by request. We only list the places you confirm, and we don't imply you cover the whole state.

Can I update opening hours before a busy season?

Yes. Email the new hours and when they start. Business ($29/month) and Business Pro include one small change per month, made free on the 15th. If it can't wait, an instant change is $10 and done within 24–48 hours. Starter changes are $10 each. Send planned changes early so they're live in time.

Can customers inquire ahead without receiving an automatic booking confirmation?

Yes. The contact form sends you a request, and a line beside the button says that nothing is booked until you confirm. Online appointment requests on Business Pro ($50/month) work the same way: you confirm the time with the customer. We don't offer lodging or reservation booking.

Can you build the site from my existing photos and business information?

Yes. Send the photos, service list, hours and service area you already have, and we build from them. Your own photos always stay yours. If something is missing, we ask rather than fill the gap with made-up details.

Can I keep the website active during a slower season, and what happens if I cancel?

The website stays live as long as your subscription is active, including in slower months. There's no pause plan or free seasonal hold. If you cancel, service continues through the paid billing period, then hosting ends and the site goes offline. Your logo, photos and content stay yours. Signing up again later is treated as a new subscription; restoring the previous site isn't guaranteed.
